Green Beans are elongated pods that can be eaten in their entirety whether raw or cooked, and are crispy and sweet in taste. Green Beans are also called Common Beans, Snap Beans and sometimes French Beans, although a true French Bean is much longer and thinner. Common Beans are usually green, but can also be yellow, red, purple or streaked.

This food is low in Sodium, and very low in Saturated Fat and Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Protein, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Copper, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate and Manganese.
